Program Fees

The Asper MBA program cost for domestic students for 2011-2012 is approximately $29,200 (CAD $). This is the cost for completing this program in one year and includes all the fees listed below plus an estimated cost of textbooks. All students starting the Asper MBA program in August 2010 and on should be aware that Asper MBA tuition fees will increase by 25% in Fall 2012.

2011-2012 amounts are as follows:

  • Application Fee: $100 for all applicants
  • Tuition*: $372.30 per credit hour = total $23,454.90
  • Endowment fees*: $18.98 per credit hour = total $1195.74
  • Technology fees: up to $79.54/term
  • Graduate Student Organization fees: $84.06/term
  • Library fees: $37.12/year
  • Registration fees: $37.12/year
  • Student Service fees: $31.82/year
  • Health and Dental Insurance (for students who do not have alternate coverage): $256.75/year
  • Books/Course Materials: Approximately $3,500

* Tuition and endowment fees are charged proportionately each term on a per course/credit hour basis, thus if you complete the program in one year, you will pay all fees in that one year (portion paid in each of the three terms that you are here). If you choose a part-time pace, you will pay proportional tuition and student fees each term that you are in the program.

Fees for International Students

International students will also be assessed the following fees in 2011-2012 (in addition to the fees outlined above), for a program total of approximately $38,300 (CAD $) if completed in one year:

  • International Student Fee: $50
  • International Student Health Insurance: $408 (single) or $1,248 (family)
  • International Student Differential Tuition Fee: $8,748.81 total

International students with strong past academic standing who are subject to the differential tuition fee are automatically considered for targeted scholarships awarded by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Scholarships & Bursaries

We offer approximately six entrance scholarships ranging in size from $1,000 up to $5,000. All new students who apply by the application deadlines are automatically considered for these scholarships (separate scholarship applications are not required). Please note that we cannot guarantee that late applicants will be considered for entrance scholarships. Scholarship selection is largely based on previous academic performance, but GMAT scores and past work experience may also be taken into account.

Asper MBA and the University offer much needed bursary assistance to students with financial need. To be considered for bursaries, students are encouraged to first apply for Manitoba Student Aid (or aid from their home province, if they are not from Manitoba). Those wishing for bursary consideration do need to complete the Student Aid application first in order for a financial assessment to take place. They must then apply for the bursary program in September on the general University of Manitoba Bursary application form. The assessment of your financial situation will be available through Student Aid (and thus verified) and will increase ones chance of a successful bursary application (students with a verified assessed need are given bursaries before those who self-report financial need). Please find the link to the Manitoba Student Aid application at http://www.gov.mb.ca/educate/sfa/pages/sfaFrontDoor_en.html.
