In Winnipeg you’ll find the only 24-hour airport in Western Canada. The James A. Richardson International Airport features state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable technology and architecture. And we’re home to the largest aerospace industry in Western Canada.

The National Screen Institute, Canada’s national film, television and digital media training school for writers, directors, and produces, has its headquarters here. Winnipeg is also taking centre stage as a venue for world-class sports and entertainment. MTS Centre, home to the Winnipeg Jets NHL hockey franchise, is poised to be the heart of a major sports and entertainment district, and continues to attract concert performances from around the world. The University of Manitoba will soon be home to a spectacular new Winnipeg Blue Bombers football stadium. And the Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team still draws sell-out crowds.

Folklorama is the largest and longest-running multicultural event of its kind in the world. The internationally acclaimed Winnipeg Folk Festival features seven stages and over 60 acts. The Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival is the second-largest Fringe Festival in North America, and showcases performances by over 120 theatre companies. Festival du Voyageur is Western Canada’s largest winter festival. Then there’s the Winnipeg Jazz Festival and Manito Ahbee Festival….
